Each month Gleaners Shared Harvest Pantry in Livingston County serves over 900 households that are in need of adequate food and nutrition. The Pantry distributes over 118,000 pounds of food each month to our neighbors that are struggling to provide basic and consistent meals for their families. Clients of the Pantry may be seniors on a fixed income, families that are struggling, or individuals that are unable to meet basic necessities.

The St Patrick Gleaners Outreach Ministry supports Gleaners by coordinating food donations from the parish and by hosting two food drives each year. On average, the parish donates over 1400 pounds of food and essentials each month. Our volunteers regularly collect and weigh all donations of food and bring them to the Gleaners Food Bank warehouse in Howell, MI. Hours and days are arranged individually. They also coordinate a couple of food drives a year. During our last food drive in June, 2019 St Patrick parishioners donated 2498 pounds. Tours are also provided at the Gleaners warehouse for anyone that is interested in helping there (please watch the video below).

You are welcome to help our Livingston neighbors in need by participating in the ongoing drive. The food items most in need are tuna fish, canned chicken, canned fruits/vegetables, peanut butter, and healthy cereal. The Pantry also has an “Item of the Month” donation list to provide for other food and household essentials. Please drop off your donations in the bin located by the parish elevator entrance. A list of all requested Item(s) of the Month is provided by clicking on the orange button below.

Please contact the Christian Service office if you are interested in getting involved with this ministry.
