baptism
the gateway to life in the spirit
Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other Sacraments. It is the first Sacrament of initiation that welcomes an individual into the Kingdom of God, removes the stain of original sin, and plants the first gift of the Holy Spirit within their hearts. It is from Baptism that each of our vocations flows.
infant baptisms
Infant baptisms at St. Patrick are held every Sunday, except the first Sunday of the month, at 1:00 PM in the church.
If you are interested in having your infant baptized at St. Patrick, please complete our Infant Baptism Registration Form to begin the infant baptism process. Once completed, you will receive an email outlining the requirements for infant baptism. All requirements must be completed before you can schedule baptism for your infant. Please see below for additional information regarding baptism preparation classes and godparent requirements.
upcoming baptism preparation classes
As part of the process, parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class prior to scheduling your infant’s baptism. These classes are held every other month on a Saturday morning from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. The classes consist of engaging content, good discussion, food and fellowship, and are a great way to meet other parents of the parish. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your babies! If you have attended a baptism class for a previous child, you do not need to attend again. Pre-registration is required at the link below so we know how many people to expect.

godparent requirements
Godparents must be baptized Catholics who meet the requirements of Canon Law, as outlined on our Godparent Eligibility form. Every infant being baptized is required to have at least one Godparent who meets these requirements. Two Godparents may be chosen provided there is one male and one female. Families who choose only one Godparent may invite a baptized non-Catholic Christian to be a Christian witness. A person baptized in the Catholic Church may not serve as a Christian witness. A Christian witness is present to witness the baptism take place but does not serve in the ceremonial or canonical role of a Godparent. Only the Godparent(s) are required to complete the Godparent Eligibility Form found below and have it signed and sealed by the pastor of their parish attesting to their ability to serve as a Godparent. Once completed, please upload the form(s) to your child's portal.
