Parish Council Member Nominations Fall 2025
This is just a friendly reminder that we are currently accepting nominations for our two openings on the Parish Council. Parish council provides critical input and feedback both on how we are fulfilling our mission and on other major projects and initiatives for our parish. This role consists of bi-monthly meetings where each council member provides insight and input he or she receives from the parish family. This helps me and our staff make good decisions on behalf of the parish.
I ask that all parishioners prayerfully consider serving as a parish council member or nominating someone you think would be great for this role. We have two open council member seats for parishioners willing to serve on the parish council for a three-year term.
If you’re personally interested in serving on parish council, please fill out and submit the Parish Council Nomination Form found here. These nomination forms, which will also be available in the front office, need to be submitted to me by email or dropped off at office by August 8, 2025. After this deadline, I will, with the help of my leadership team, prayerfully select from the nominations those to serve these terms.
Daily Rosary and Divine Mercy Devotions
Here at St. Pat’s, we pray the Rosary as a family community every week, Monday through Friday before daily Mass. Beginning on Monday, July 21st, we will also start praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet every weekday, with the Rosary beginning at 7:50am and the Chaplet to immediately follow. The Chaplet will also be prayed after the Thursday 12:10 Mass.
As John Paul II explained, the repeated prayers in the rosary help us get more in touch with the deepest desires in our souls for God. It’s a powerful prayer that can change your life, strengthen the family, bring peace to the world, convert entire nations, and win the salvation of souls.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is a prayer Jesus Himself dictated to St. Faustina in the 1930's. In his message to St. Faustina, Jesus made it very clear that the need to proclaim His Divine Mercy is urgent because the world needs it in preparation for His final coming. His message was to pray the Chaplet "unceasingly" to be embraced by His mercy in our lifetime and especially at the time of our death. Jesus also said to St. Faustina, "Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to my mercy." The Chaplet is a timeless prayer promising personal and worldwide peace.
These are both important devotions that can bring about the conversion of souls. I hope to see many of you join in these prayers before the 8:30am Mass beginning on July 21st.
Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
