Fish Fry Success!
Last Friday the drive-thru Dad’s Club Fish Fry sold 1,200 meals, shattering their previous record. With a crew in the dozens, the faithful dads of our school were able to deliver orders to the cars in an average of four minutes after the order was taken. The four-hour fish fry was over in two hours, leaving many of the late-comers completely confused. They ran out of fish. On March 19th, they will have a truck with a freezer filled with fish so we can sell even more. Thanks to all the dads of our school for putting together a delicious fish fry!
Diocesan Services Appeal 2021
This weekend is the commitment weekend of the Diocesan Services Appeal. Like the Fish Fry above, I’m hoping to break our previous record -- not so much related to our total monetary goal, but related to the number of givers. I want everyone who is confirmed and older to make a donation to the DSA. The Diocese has done fantastic work during COVID and has been extraordinarily generous to us as a parish with the deals we’ve received on our debt. The least we can do is be generous in our response to the annual appeal.
In the bulletin you’ll find a list of key services your diocesan dollars fund in this appeal. Please click here to watch their annual DSA video.
I strongly suggest that you please donate now online. Please go here to make your donation.
I just made my donation and I encourage you to do so as well. If you choose not to do this online, we have physical envelopes in the pews this weekend. Please fill one out and bring it back soon.
Letter on Cancel Culture and the Equality Act
If you didn’t get my letter to the parish from last Sunday on this topic, please make sure you’re signed up for our email communication. If you are signed up and didn’t get it, please check your spam. After the publication of my communications, (emails, letters and bulletin articles), they will be available in the Pastor’s Corner section of our website.
Good News
I’ll be sharing some good news with the parish this weekend. God is good!
Your servant in Christ,
Fr. Mathias
