Talk on Building Strong Catholic Families: September 18th in the PLC

Raising kids today is difficult enough. Raising them in a way that they keep their faith is an added challenge.  Andre Regnier, Founder of Catholic Christian Outreach, is coming to St. Pat’s to give a special keynote talk and Q and A on parenting on September 18th in the PLC at 7 PM. His talk is on the topic, “Brick by Brick: Building A Strong Family That Won’t Lose Their Faith in a Secular Culture.” His recent book with this same title is highly praised as well. Here is the description of the book on which he is going to be presenting:

“Far too many Catholic families today experience the  heart-wrenching pain of their grown children abandoning the practice of the faith. Parents pray and hope that their children will, at the very least, go to Mass as adults only to see the faith tradition and beauty of the Church lost among the next generation. With real life stories, tons of humor, and practical advice, this three-generation family illustrates seven key principles of discipleship parenting that bore them great fruit. Grow in your understanding of God s purpose for the family, and be moved in your parenting and family life to create a future of missionary disciples.”

Childcare is provided. No sign up necessary, just show up. If you or someone you know is wanting to build stronger family life and needs some encouragement, please encourage them to come.

Oktoberfest Celebration (Parish Festival) Sunday, September 26

It seems that the pandemic has laid to rest our old parish festival. We have rebooted this year and are piloting a fall festival on the parish school grounds across town (1001 Charles Orndorf Dr) that aims at uniting the St. Patrick family (parish and school). The St. Pat’s Dad’s Club is in full gear planning and executing this family friendly event. This year we’re doing a kind of St. Patrick Oktoberfest Celebration on Sunday, September 26th from 2 PM - 6 PM.

Here are some of the offerings at this new event: multiple bounce houses, obstacle courses, beer tent featuring Octoberfest Beer from parishioner-owned Eternity Brewery, Tommy Schober and the Sound of Sorgenbrecher German band, and authentic German food prepared by the St. Patrick School Dads’ Club Culinary Crew. Finally, we will have the Annual Parish Raffle drawing at the end of the event. (Don’t forget to turn in your tickets!) Everything is free but the beer. This is promising to be a big event, please plan on coming and joining the fun.

Tuesday’s Parish Leadership Summit

On Tuesday, the parish staff is proud to host our second Parish Leadership Summit in which we invite the leaders of various ministries in our parish to come together for an evening of encouragement, inspiration and fellowship. At this cheese and wine event, we thank and honor all parishioners who volunteer their time leading others in various ministries and apostolates. This year we will have

Fr. John Riccardo and his Acts XXIX team to serve as speakers to encourage us in Christian service. Last time we did this we had about one hundred key volunteer leaders come. If you were invited to this year’s summit, remember to please RSVP soon. If you weren’t invited by name but you lead a ministry here, you’re invited too. Just simply RSVP by email Patricia Ellison at pellison@stpatchurch.org.

Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
