Grand Reopening of Newly Renovated McCann Hall and Ministry Fair! (Next Weekend)

After the Sunday morning Masses next weekend (Sunday September 20th) we will start again our Coffee and Donuts in our newly renovated McCann Hall. We will also be having our ministry fair downstairs that weekend as well.

Singing the Mass: Catching the Church’s Vision on Sacred Music

Our new Director of Sacred Music, Regina Scime, is a real gem (as you’ve heard at Mass). Next Wednesday, September 16th, at 6:30pm in O’Kelly Hall, she’s going to be giving an important presentation to the whole parish entitled “Singing the Mass: Learning the Church’s Sung Prayer.

Essentially, Regina will be covering what Pope Leo has been teaching about in his general audiences (what “active participation” in Mass actually means). She’ll also dive into what the Mass antiphons are and why we sing them. Her love for Jesus along with her degrees in liturgical music and choral conducting position her to be uniquely capable of teaching us what the Church asks of us at Mass.

Given our shared vision for sacred music at St Pat’s, I believe this is an important event to attend, if you can make it. Please bring a friend, a question, and your singing voice. We hope to see you there!

Exciting Discipleship Pathway Opportunities This Fall

This fall we have many events happening on our discipleship pathway, our comprehensive pastoral strategy of making Spirit-filled missionary disciples of Jesus for the glory of the Father. As a reminder, the Discipleship Pathway is an image of the Christian life of prayer and sacraments that ends in heaven. Celebrating Catholic Education: 75th Anniversary St Pat’s School Gala (Saturday, October 10)

As you’ve seen in the bulletin and heard at Mass, we are having our school gala/auction on October 10th 6:30 to 11:00 to celebrate 75 years of Catholic education on the very site of where it all began back in 1951: the Parish Life Center. (For those who are newer to the parish, our school across town is our newer school built in 2006. Our first school was in the Parish Life Center).

Our hope is that this gala will mark the beginning of a tradition of celebration and generosity, bringing our parish family together each year in support of our school. The evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner, and a silent and live auction, supporting safety upgrades and gymnasium enhancements for our students. To purchase tickets or learn more, please visit the gala website or stop by the table in the back of the Church right after Mass this weekend. Tickets are available for purchase now through September 25th.

Significantly, if you’re not able to join us that evening, please know there are ways to be part of this celebration. Donations and sponsorships are always welcome, and every gift, no matter the size, helps support our students and the future of our school. Thanks ahead of time for supporting us!

Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
